2nd Period
This exciting introductory art class is designed to encourage artistic exploration with a variety of materials, artists, and themes. We will explore the elements and principles of art by drawing objects, animals, and nature. Students will work on important skills such as scissor cutting, paint-mixing, and drawing techniques. There will be some weeks when scenes/characters from a popular children’s book will be drawn, and a story read to go along with the artwork.
Class Supplies Needed: Pencils, eraser, scissors, glue sticks, and Sharpie markers.
Please provide a labeled art box or large sealable bag for supplies. Siblings are welcome to share supplies that remain in the art room.
Wednesday, 10:30 AM-11:25AM
3rd Period
This mixed media art class provides an enjoyable experience exploring still life, nature, animals, and artist studies. We will enjoy learning about perspective and observational drawing using various mediums. Students will create an art journal documenting the topics covered.
Class Supplies Needed: Pencils, eraser, scissors, glue sticks, black Sharpie marker, and a plain wide ruled composition book to turn into an art journal.
Please provide a labeled art box or large sealable bag for supplies to remain in the art room.
Wednesday, 11:30 AM -12:25 PM
4th Period
Utilizing art club style mixed media, this class will involve a variety of 2D and 3D projects. We will focus on functional and creative art with multiple materials such as recycled materials, weaving, paper, and paint focus. There will be times and options for group projects and individual art.
Class Supplies Needed: Pencils, eraser, scissors, glue sticks, black Sharpie marker, and a plain wide ruled composition book for use as an art journal.
Please provide a labeled art box or large sealable bag for supplies to remain in the art room.

Wednesday 2 PM
This creative art class presents students with a variety of experience with drawing pencils, markers, charcoal, and watercolor/acrylic paint. Students will complete weekly sketchbook assignments in addition to projects. Students will have the opportunity to practice and enhance their drawing skills with perspective, imagination, still life, paint, and other explorative ideas. We will study a variety of artists and movements and use the knowledge to analyze, interpret, and produce art in each style studied.
Class Supplies Needed: Pencils (2H, HB, and 2B variety), eraser, 8 1/2 x 11" (or larger) sketchbook, and Sharpie markers.

Wednesday 1 PM
This is a fun studio art course based on functional art creations through different media. A general art background is helpful to this creative process. Projects will include 2D and 3D materials, clay, print making, textiles, and paper cutting. This class will explore functional art mediums and students will learn about the creative process through design. Sketchbooks will be used for the journaling the creative process.
Class Supplies Needed: Pencils (2H, HB, and 2B variety), eraser, 8 1/2 x 11"(or larger) sketchbook, and Sharpie markers. Future items needed may be of a recycled material.
